A Reminder Of Why Our Fallen Soldiers Willingly Gave Their Lives Serving Our Country

Someone just posted the following comment to this web site, a site created to honor the memory of SSgt. Kyu Hyuk Chay and the other Fallen Soldiers such as Lt. Michael P. Murphy.

These soldiers willingly put themselves in harm’s way, knowing their lives would be at risk, and also knowing that some of them would die as a result.

They did this so their surviving families and countrymen could enjoy the fruits of freedom.

One of the greatest fruits of freedom, and a necessary condition to keeping a country free, is freedom of expression.

Here is an example of such a free expression. It was written by retro@retro.net:

As much as I’d like to see a woman president, I don’t trust Hillary as far as I can throw her.

Enjoy your freedom, retro. I sure hope you appreciate what you have, for many have died to give you the right to enjoy that freedom.

They won’t get to enjoy that freedom.

They are dead.

You aren’t.

Think about that.

  1. By the way, I think it worth noting that both President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton were present at the Memorial Day Ceremony this past May that directly led to the creation of the Fallen Soldiers Project.

They live less than two miles from the Chappaqua War Memorial.

The War Memorial is right in front of the train station. I went into NYC yesterday, and paused for a short time to stand and look at the memorial, both on the way to the city, and on the way back, to remind myself how blessed we are to have men such as SSgt. Chay and Lt. Michael Murphy willing to die for our country.
